THE BUCKELEWS

05.25.2025

When we think back on David and Michayla's wedding day, one word comes to mind: joyful.

Every part of the day felt relaxed, intentional, and focused on what mattered most: getting married, and celebrating with the people they love.

On May 25, 2025, family and friends gathered at Mountain View Garden & Ballroom to celebrate David and Michayla's wedding. With spring blooms, thoughtful details, and a packed dance floor, the day was equal parts beautiful and fun.

One of the first things we noticed was how perfectly coordinated everything felt. The bridesmaids wore a vibrant light blue that immediately caught your eye (and happened to match their getting-ready pajamas).

The groomsmen looked sharp in navy suits accented with simple white rose boutonnieres, while both mothers wore navy dresses that tied the entire wedding party together beautifully. Combined with the spring florals and garden setting, the entire day felt bright, timeless, and effortlessly elegant.

Sweet Ceremony Moments

Before the ceremony even officially began, guests were already smiling.

The flower girls made their way down the aisle in a floral-decorated wagon, creating one of the cutest moments of the day. The ceremony itself was heartfelt and personal, and when the couple shared their first kiss as husband and wife, the celebration truly began.

Their recessional was pure joy. Guests cheered as the newlyweds made their way back down the aisle together, officially kicking off their life together.

For the music the couple had a live pianist for the processional, and we were honored to provide ceremony sound for their day, helping ensure every guest could hear each meaningful word and moment.

The Perfect Casual Cocktail Hour

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour that perfectly reflected David and Michayla's vision for their day.

Instead of rushing from one formal event to the next, everyone had the chance to relax, catch up, and enjoy time together. A mobile bar served custom cocktails including espresso martinis and Yellowhammers, a classic Tuscaloosa, AL favorite that was a hit with guests throughout the evening.

Friends and family took selfies in front of a greenery wall featuring the couple's new last name in neon, had friendly competition over a game of corn hole, and spent time simply enjoying each other's company.

Guests also stopped by our Audio Guestbook to leave messages including marriage advice, funny stories, and well wishes for the newlyweds. It's always one of our favorite parts of the night because the messages become even more meaningful with time.

First Dances and Dancefloor Fuel

As guests made their way into the reception, they had a delicious dinner of pizza and pasta, then it was time to officially welcome the newlyweds!

David and Michayla made their grand entrance before sharing their first dance together as husband and wife. Then we had the parent dances, including the father-daughter dance and mother-son dance.

These moments are always some of the most emotional parts of a wedding day. While everyone is excited to celebrate the couple, it's also a chance to honor the families and relationships that helped shape them along the way. There wasn't a dry eye in the room during a few of these moments.

Before opening up the dance floor, they had their cake cutting, giving guests a chance to grab a sweet treat and mingle a little longer. Once everyone got a little sugar in their system, we had a feeling it wouldn't be long before the dance floor started filling up—and that's exactly what happened.

Pop, Rock, and a Fun Dance Floor

Once the formalities wrapped up, it was time to party.

David and Michayla wanted a mix of throwback favorites, classic rock, current pop hits, and a few line dances sprinkled throughout the night—and their guests loved it all.

The dance floor stayed busy as guests of all ages joined in, sang along to familiar favorites, and embraced every opportunity to celebrate together. The music felt like a reflection of the day itself: fun, welcoming, and centered around bringing people together.

Some weddings feel like productions. David and Michayla's wedding felt like a family gathering in the very best way.

Every detail was beautiful, every tradition felt meaningful, and every guest seemed genuinely excited to be there celebrating alongside them. It was relaxed without ever feeling rushed, thoughtful without feeling formal, and filled with the kind of moments people will still be talking about years from now.

Congratulations, David & Michayla!
